The Aces team was so incredibly professional, empathetic, practical & with us every step of the way. Our beloved cat of 12 years suddenly fell ill with what ended up being multiple signs of cancer. Our heads were spinning with emotion, and we truly felt that Dr Black & everyone at Aces recommended what was best for us as owners and for the well-being of our cat. There was plenty of further testing that could have been done, but ultimately to no avail, and this is where Aces was exemplary in their communication by shifting their focus to the bigger picture.Aces gave us the invaluable blessing of being able to have one last night to spend with our cherished friend before we ultimately brought her in for her final visit the morning after. Being able to have that special last time with her is something we’re forever grateful for to Aces, and to the team at Arguello Pet Hospital for recommending them. We knew our baby was in the best care possible, and unfortunately it was just her time.
It’s never easy losing a pet you’ve loved & cared for their entire life — and in all I honesty I can say Aces was the best advocate for as humane an action plan as we could’ve asked for, given the gravity of the decisions we faced.Thank you to the entire Aces team. Star was an integral part of our family and we genuinely saw first-hand how Aces went above and beyond in their love and attention for the entirety of the animals under their care.
I had the best experience! The entire staff was so sweet and helpful. Provided me with the exact information needed and was able to help my 16 year old dog in a timely and loving manner. With a pet emergency time is of the essence. Other bay area emergency vets were estimating 6-8 hour wait times while ACES was able to intake and check my dog within an hour of intake. It can be scary bringing your pet to a new vet but I would HIGHLY recommend ACES.
They have a back parking lot so no need to worry about street parking. They make registering and checking in simple with links being sent to your phone.
I’m sooo thankful to ACES, Dr. Snyder, and their entire veterinary team. This was the first time I had to take my kitten to urgent care and I was incredibly scared and flustered. I initially called 2 other clinics that were closer but they were either at capacity or had a 5 hour wait. I have so much respect for vets right now, especially the ones who are working emergency shifts during this nationwide vet shortage. Not only are they busy with a surplus of requests, but dealing with panicked owners in these situations cannot be easy. The whole team was incredibly empathic, patient, and helpful. I felt so at ease as soon as I first talked to them. Dr. Snyder went above and beyond to come out and talk to me about my kitten’s prognosis and provided so much context while answering all of my (many) questions. I can tell she’s truly an expert in her field, as she provided insight we haven’t heard from our other doctors and was able to pick up on things they missed. They took such good care of my little boy and I could tell he was comfortable with them even though he was in pain. I’m so thankful for their help and will definitely be coming back for a follow up and other urgent care needs.
Cannot thank the ACES team enough!! We brought our bullmastiff puppy this past weekend with a swollen foot. The ACES team was communicative and incredibly kind, and I did not get the sense that they were running tests or administering medication just to get the $$ (unlike other practices). They referred us out to a specialist when their exhaustive tests were inconclusive and gave us a mix of medication that helped a lot with our girl’s symptoms. It was also pretty timely for an emergency vet even on a busy Sunday, all things considered.
It is very clear that the team at this location truly cares about animals, and we really appreciated their kind demeanor despite what I can only imagine is a very difficult and exhausting job. I highly recommend this location— please be nice to your techs and doctors, they are working so hard!! Thank you ACES!!
Last night we had to make the hard decision to let our 16-year-old Goldendoodle rest in peace. Due to a holiday weekend, our Vet was not open. After searching online, I came across ACES – which is 24/7/365. Of course, this was very emotional, and I wanted the best for my pup and for my children and me to say goodbye. I was SO pleased at the compassion from the first call to the time we walked out of the door. The staff and vet were amazing with us. We spent the time we needed with our pup before and after the procedure. Though I certainly hope I never have to find an emergency vet, I wouldn’t hesitate to visit ACES again, where I know we would be well taken care of. Should you find yourself in my situation or even a lesser emergency, I highly recommend ACES. Wishing you and your furry loved ones the best!
My cat, Fusa, had surgery at another hospital. The day after, he started having a bunch of abnormal symptoms. I scooped him up, put him in his carrier and looked on yelp for the closest, best rated ER. I called ahead and told them his symptoms and they said they could see him immediately. When I got there, they took him back right away. A little while after they assessed him, they came out to say that it looked like he had a stroke and they put him on oxygen. They needed to keep him overnight to monitor him and on our way home we got a call that his heart had stopped. They gave him CPR like we had given them permission for but he was gone, there was no saving him. They did everything they could to keep him alive. They were kind and let me have all the time I needed when I came back to say my goodbyes to him. Then a couple weeks later I got a sympathy card in the mail, signed by the entire staff. I would return to ACES if I had another emergency, I appreciated everything they did for my dear Fusa.
My beloved dog lived with kidney and liver diseases four years longer than expected. Her health took a drastic turn in her final week. We went to a different vet so we had pain medications on hand already, but one night she started whimpering. Her whimpering turned into screaming. Her medications were no longer helping, and it was 3 AM. ACES took her in right away. They didn’t rush us in any step of the process, and she was able to rest peacefully. The vet reassured us that we were making a good decision for our girl and gave us all the time we needed. The techs made sure her bed was comfortable and that it would be mess free later on. They even laid a blanket and towel on the table for her. The building is not very nice because it is quite old, but the people inside were very kind and efficient. It was a terrible and heartbreaking experience that the staff made as easy and pain free as possible. Thank you. I hope never to see you all again, but I’m glad to know that I could safely bring a beloved pet here in an emergency.
